Hemp Flower — Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our pre-packed hemp flower and pre-rolls.

What is THCA flower, and how is it different from Delta-9 THC flower?

THCA is the raw, non-intoxicating precursor cannabinoid found in the hemp plant; it converts into Delta-9 THC when heated (for example, when smoked or vaporized). Our hemp flower is grown and tested to contain 0.3% or less Delta-9 THC by dry weight at the time of testing, which is what makes it federally compliant hemp rather than marijuana — but because THCA converts to Delta-9 THC when combusted, the smoked experience can feel similar to THC flower. Lab results for each batch are available on our Lab Results page.

Is hemp flower legal where I live?

Hemp flower with 0.3% or less Delta-9 THC is legal under federal law, but a number of states and municipalities have their own restrictions on smokable hemp or high-THCA flower specifically — laws in this area are changing frequently. It's your responsibility to check your state and local laws before purchasing, and we're unable to ship certain products to some states.

What's the difference between pre-packed flower and pre-rolls?

Pre-packed flower is loose hemp flower sold by the gram or container so you can prepare it yourself. Pre-rolls are ready to use, hand-rolled with hemp flower for convenience.

How can I tell my flower is lab-tested and compliant?

Every strain we sell is tested by an independent, accredited lab for cannabinoid content, including Delta-9 THC levels, and those results are published on our Lab Results / COA page. We'd encourage you to check the COA that matches the batch number on your package.

What do strain names and terpene profiles tell me?

Strain names (like the ones you'll see in our shop) generally point to the plant genetics and the terpene profile — the aromatic compounds that give each strain its characteristic scent and flavor. Terpene content is listed on the COA for strains where that testing is available; personal preference for aroma and flavor is the best guide to choosing a strain.

How should I store hemp flower to keep it fresh?

Keep flower in an airtight container, away from direct light, heat, and humidity. Properly stored, flower typically stays at its best for several months; over time, exposure to air and light will gradually reduce potency and aroma.

Is there an age requirement to purchase flower?

Yes, you must be 21 or older to purchase hemp flower and pre-rolls from Colorado Cures.

Smokable hemp and THCA flower laws vary by state and change often. Please confirm your local laws before ordering — see our Locations and shipping policy for state-specific restrictions.
