CBD is one of many cannabinoids found in both industrial hemp, and cannabis.

CBD oil is a broad term used to describe a tincture made up of a carrier oil, cannabinoid extracts, terpenes, and flavorings. Our Colorado Cures tinctures come in a variety of flavors and concentrations.

Our Colorado Cures tinctures are made of the highest quality ingredients. Our CBD isolate is extracted in the state of Colorado. From there it is combined with MCT coconut oil and natural flavorings. We isolate our CBD through a CO2 extraction process which is both clean and efficient at isolating the maximum amount of CBD per batch allowing us to pass the savings on to you.

Both medical marijuana and industrial hemp are known as the plant species cannabis sativa. The one factor that differs is the amount of THC, the psychoactive cannabinoid is present within the plant. The 2018 farm bill defines any cannabis sativa plant with less than .3% THC to be classified as industrial hemp. Anything with more than .3% is defined as marijuana.

While some states have laws restricting CBD sales, CBD is not illegal. The 2018 farm bill also outlines rules for hemp derived products, such as CBD isolate, and tinctures. It was found that since hemp is no longer classified alongside marijuana on the DEA’s list of dangerous drugs it is completely legal to own, use, and transport.

CBD and products containing CBD should be stored in a cool, dark place. This is because over time both heat and light can degrade CBD.

Isolated CBD will have a shelf life of 2 years. This of course can vary based upon a number of variables. Things like light exposure or exposure to heat will cause this shelf life to shorten. In some cases, like with brownies the shelf life may be significantly shorter due to the ingredients other than CBD contained within that type of product.

We offer products which contain a wide range of cannabinoids. We offer full spectrum products, which contain up to 113 cannabinoids including up to .3% THC per serving. We also offer broad spectrum products which can contain up to 109 cannabinoids. Even though broad spectrum products do not contain any THC there is a possibility of a positive drug test result with these products. Anyone with drug testing concerns should consider using products only containing CBD. We refer to these products as Isolate.

We've expanded beyond CBD into a full range of hemp-derived cannabinoids. Below are answers to the most common questions about Delta-9, Delta-8, THCA, HHC, CBG, and CBN.

Delta-9 THC is the primary psychoactive cannabinoid found in both hemp and marijuana plants. Under the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp-derived products like our Delta-9 gummies come from hemp containing 0.3% or less Delta-9 THC by dry weight, the same federal threshold used to classify hemp. Marijuana-derived THC products come from cannabis plants that exceed that threshold and fall under separate state marijuana regulations.

Delta-8 and Delta-9 are both naturally occurring cannabinoids with similar chemical structures, though Delta-9 is generally considered more potent. Both can be derived from hemp under the same 0.3% THC threshold. Effects and legal treatment can vary by product and by state, so if you're new to either, start low and go slow, and check the Certificate of Analysis for the specific product you're considering.

THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is the raw, non-intoxicating precursor to THC found in the hemp plant. It converts to Delta-9 THC when heated, a process called decarboxylation, such as when it's smoked or vaporized. Because of this, THCA products are subject to ongoing regulatory discussion, and their legal status can differ significantly by state.

HHC (hexahydrocannabinol) is a hydrogenated form of THC, similar to how vegetable oil is hydrogenated into margarine. It occurs naturally in trace amounts in hemp and can also be produced from CBD. Like other hemp-derived cannabinoids, its legal status varies by state.

CBG (cannabigerol) is often called the “mother cannabinoid” because other cannabinoids, including CBD and THC, are derived from it as the hemp plant matures. It's non-intoxicating and typically found in smaller concentrations than CBD.

CBN (cannabinol) is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid that forms naturally as THC ages and breaks down over time. Many customers look for CBN specifically for evening routines, though we don't make medical claims, check with a healthcare provider about what's right for you.

Full spectrum products contain the widest range of naturally occurring cannabinoids, up to 113, including up to 0.3% THC per serving. Broad spectrum products are processed to remove THC while keeping most other cannabinoids (up to 109). CBD isolate contains only pure CBD, with no other cannabinoids or THC. If you're subject to drug testing, isolate is the lowest-risk option.

Federally, hemp-derived products containing 0.3% or less Delta-9 THC by dry weight are legal under the 2018 Farm Bill. However, a number of states have passed their own, stricter laws restricting or banning certain hemp-derived cannabinoids (including Delta-8, Delta-9, THCA, and HHC products), and these laws change frequently. We recommend checking your state's current regulations before purchasing.

Third-party lab testing means a product's cannabinoid content and safety (checking for things like pesticides, heavy metals, and residual solvents) is verified by an independent lab, not just by us.
