Active Ingredients — Frequently Asked Questions

A quick guide to the cannabinoids and compounds you'll see across our product lines: CBD, CBN, CBG, Delta-8, Delta-9, THCA, THC-P, HHC, and our nootropic blend.

What's the difference between CBD, CBN, and CBG?

CBD, CBN, and CBG are all non-intoxicating (or minimally intoxicating) cannabinoids found in hemp. CBD is the most researched and widely available; CBN is often found in products marketed for nighttime use, like our CBN Nighttime Gummies; CBG is one of the earliest cannabinoids the plant produces and is used in some of our broad-spectrum formulations. Each is listed by mg on the products that contain it.

What's the difference between Delta-8, Delta-9, THCA, THC-P, and HHC?

These are all hemp-derived cannabinoids capable of producing an intoxicating effect, but they differ in chemical structure. Delta-9-THC is the cannabinoid most associated with marijuana, present in our hemp products only at trace, federally compliant levels (0.3% or less) except where a product is specifically formulated as a hemp-derived Delta-9 item within that legal limit. Delta-8, THCA (once heated), THC-P, and HHC are separate cannabinoids with their own molecular structures; users commonly describe differences in intensity and character between them, but we can't make comparative effectiveness claims. Check each product's COA for exact cannabinoid content.

What does 'isolate,' 'broad-spectrum,' and 'full-spectrum' mean?

Isolate is a single, purified cannabinoid with nothing else from the plant. Broad-spectrum includes multiple hemp compounds (cannabinoids and terpenes) with THC removed. Full-spectrum includes the fullest range of hemp compounds, including trace, legal-limit Delta-9 THC.

Which active ingredient is right for me?

That depends on your personal goals, your sensitivity to THC, and what's legal in your state — we're not able to recommend one ingredient over another for a specific outcome. Reviewing each ingredient's description and COA, and starting with a lower-potency option if you're new to a particular cannabinoid, is a reasonable way to explore what works for you.

Are all of these cannabinoids legal?

Legality is complex and changes frequently. All of our products are formulated to meet the federal definition of hemp (0.3% or less Delta-9 THC by dry weight), but several states have their own additional restrictions on specific cannabinoids like Delta-8, THCA, or HHC. It's your responsibility to check your state and local laws before ordering, and we restrict shipping to certain states accordingly.

What is a 'nootropic blend,' and how is it different from a cannabinoid?

Our nootropic blend products combine hemp-derived ingredients with other plant-based compounds sometimes associated with alertness or mental clarity in general wellness use. Unlike cannabinoids such as CBD or THC, nootropic ingredients are not derived from the cannabinoid compounds in hemp — check the specific product label for its full ingredient list.

How can I verify the potency of a specific active ingredient in a product?

Every product lists its active ingredient and mg content on the product page, and every batch is tested by an independent, accredited lab. You can find the matching Certificate of Analysis on our Lab Results page using the batch number printed on your product.
